Future Forest Company
The Future Forest Company exists to remove CO2 from the atmosphere, restore biodiversity and fight climate change. Our current mission is to plant enough trees to remove 1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere by 2030.
We manage a portfolio of sites in Scotland and northern England, currently covering around 3,000 hectares. Taking a landscape scale approach, we are creating new native woodlands – the ancient forests of the future – as well as restoring peatlands and enhancing habitats.
We also work with other landowners to support them with project design and delivery, and through our network of corporate partnerships can take carbon units generated from these woodland and peatland projects to market.
It is vital to us that our projects follow best practices in all regards. Therefore, through our membership of NFCA we hope to learn from this wide array of expert organisations as well as having an opportunity to provide our own insights and experiences into the workstreams and discussions.
